Different Stages of Breast Cancer

The stages of breast cancer are divided on the basis of their sizes, complications and other factors. Breast cancer is so common in females of different ages. The stages of breast cancer are categorized at below-mentioned categories:
  • Stage 0: This is just an initial start of breast cancer. This stage is known as ductal carcinoma in situ. The growth of cancerous cells is very limited at this stage. At this stage, cancerous cells don’t affect the surrounding tissues. This is the reason why this stage is categorized as 0.
  • Stage A: This is the next stage of breast cancer. The breast cancer reaches the size of up to 2 centimeters. Here the cancer cells start turning in to a tumor.
  • Stage B: In this stage of breast cancer the spread can reach the size up to 5 centimeters. Still, the lymph nodes are safe from their range.
  • Stage C: The size of the tumor may remain the same in the size at this stage but starts affecting the lymph nodes by spreading.
  • Stage D: This is a very critical stage of cancer. At this stage breast cancer can affect bones, tissues, distant organs, lungs and more.
